Unhoused and Pregnant
The LA County Department of Public Health reports that each year, over 3,000 women experience homelessness at some point during their pregnancy. As homelessness continues to rise across Los Angeles County, the need for safe, supportive resources for unhoused pregnant women has never been greater.
In response to this growing crisis, Harvest Home expanded in 2022 with the opening of our second location, The Pico Home—boosting our housing capacity from 10 to 27 women at a time. Through our two-step residential program, we now have the ability to serve up to 70 families each year, tripling our impact and extending vital care to more women and children than ever before.
Looking ahead, we remain committed to deepening our impact—enhancing support services, strengthening community partnerships, and advocating for long-term solutions that break the cycle of homelessness for pregnant women in Los Angeles.
